Eid al-Mab'ath celebrated in Pakistan

Islamabad, IRNA -- Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan hosted a gathering in Islamabad to celebrate Eid al-Mab'ath, the day when Prophet Mohammad was appointed as prophet by Allah.

The gathering was organized in cooperation with the Ablagh Literary Association and was attended by a group of prominent Shiite and Sunni scholars, university professors and prominent Pakistani poets.

Ehsan Khazaei, Cultural Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad, Anwar Najafi Prominent Professor of Al-Kauthar University in Islamabad, Allama Mohammad Haidar Alvi, Prominent Sunni cleric, Allama Pir Mohammad Saeed Ahmad Naqshbandi, renowned cleric and Deputy of National Solidarity Council, Tahir Rashid Tanoli, central leader of Pakistan Ulema Association were the keynote speakers at the unifying gathering.

The Cultural Counselor of Iran said Eid al-Mab'ath, and the night of the Ascension of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are two very important occasions that are held in Pakistan with religious fervor and people in mosques and shrines worship all the night to seek forgiveness.

He further said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was not sent as a messenger only to Muslims, but entire world.

Khazaei added one of the reasons we respect the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is their relationship with the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

"We do not pay full attention to the teachings of the Prophet, and that is why the enemies of Islam are conspiring against Islam, and their Islamophobia is rising because they do not have a proper knowledge of Islam," he said.

Hojjatoleslam Momeni, a prominent Shiite cleric, also congratulated the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the entire Islamic world on this occasion and said the first message of Islam through revelation is knowledge and awareness.

Shahbaz Ali Abbasi, while congratulating on the occasion said four of the twelve months of the year are of great sanctity and importance, but the month of Rajab, regardless of religion emphasizes unity and solidarity.

“We must put aside all differences and promote unity and solidarity," he said.

Eid al-Mab'ath celebrated in Pakistan

Allama Haidar Alvi, a Sunni cleric, congratulated the audience and said the night of Ascension is one of the greatest miracles for the Muslim Ummah, and no matter how much we progress in science and technology, we will not realize the miracle of the night of Ascension.

He added Allah has endowed His prophets with knowledge and miracles. He noted the miracles of our Prophet are for all human history until the Day of Judgment adding the night of Ascension gives us the message of unity and solidarity.

Pir Allama Mohammad Saeed Ahmad Chishti Naqshbandi said unity and solidarity among Muslims based on the teachings of the Prophet and taken from the Qur'anic teachings is our need today and we are determined to take steps for Islamic unity instead of fomenting trivial differences.
