Iranian Air Force comdr meets his Pakistani counterpart

Islamabad, IRNA – The Commander of the Air Force of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with his counterpart in Pakistan on Monday to discuss strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi met with Pakistan Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar, at Pakistan Air Force headquarters in Islamabad.

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented the Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary before the meeting.

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Iranian Defense Attaché Colonel Mosatafa Qanbarpour, and Pakistan Air Force officials also attended the meeting.

The two sides discussed the latest developments related to bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, especially in the fields of defense, military, and education.

Expressing satisfaction with the visit of his Iranian counterpart and emphasizing the historical and cultural commonalities between the two neighbors, the Pakistan Air Force Chief stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.

He expressed the determination of the Pakistan Air Force to further strengthen the current bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries of Iran and Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning that this is the second visit of a high-ranking official of the Air Force of Iran to Pakistan in recent years.

Bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan in the fields of defense, military, security, including the exchange of delegations from the armed forces of the two countries have developed significantly in recent years.

On the 20th of October last year, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a four-day official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of the Commander of the Pakistan Army.

Pakistan Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, paid two official visits to Iran in recent years and met with the county's political and military officials.
