Deputy Speaker of Pakistani parliament leaves for Iran on official visit

Islamabad, IRNA -- Deputy Speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan left for the Islamic Republic of Iran early Saturday to meet with country’s senior officials at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.

Heading a parliamentary delegation, Qasim Khan Suri left for Tehran from Islamabad International Airport early this morning at the invitation of Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of Iranian Parliament.

The deputy speaker of the Pakistani Parliament is scheduled to meet his Iranian counterpart and some other senior officials of the Islamic Republic to discuss bilateral cooperation, strengthening economic, parliamentary, and border relations.

This is Qasim Khan Suri's first official visit to Iran as deputy speaker of the Pakistani Parliament. His visit to Tehran comes just days after Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi's important visit to Islamabad.

In addition to Tehran, Qasim Khan Suri is scheduled to visit the cities of Mashhad, Qom, and Isfahan.

During a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini in Islamabad yesterday, he expressed satisfaction on the fruitful results of his upcoming visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and vowed to expand close cooperation between the two friendly, brotherly, and neighboring countries.
