Iran spares no efforts to expand ties with Tajikistan: Envoy

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Mohammad-Taghi Saberi has underlined that the Islamic Republic has no limit to develop relationship and cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan.

According to Iran’s embassy in Tajikistan, the ambassador wrote in a message on the occasion of 30th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Iran and Tajikistan that January 9, 2022 is the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Referring to strong cultural, religious, historical and language commonalities, the envoy felicitated the occasion to Tajikistan’s government and people.
The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first states, who recognized independence in Tajikistan and set up embassy in Dushanbe, to initiate political ties with the country, which enjoys common culture and language, Saberi argued.
As to Iran’s assistance to maintain peace and security in Tajikistan, he said that the Islamic Republic helped end internal conflicts through hosting several rounds of peace negotiations.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called the bilateral ties between Iranians and Tajiks as “relatives’ relationships,” Saberi noted, adding that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi chose Dushanbe as his first foreign trip destination, and that President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon described Tehran-Dushanbe relationship as very close and friendly.
According to the ambassador, Tajikistan and Iran signed more than 170 contracts over the 30-year period, which shows the two nations are determined to expand all-out ties.
The Islamic Republic is able to collaborate with the Republic of Tajikistan in new technologies such as nano-tech and development of industrial centers, he said.
The two countries have had brilliant scientific and cultural collaborations, the ambassador said, noting that exchange of experiences among scientists, teachers, students and other cultural groups have also been among main priorities of both nations.
Saberi concluded that the Islamic Republic of Iran spares no effort to expand ties and cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan.
