Catholic archbishop terms Iran as safe place for ethnic groups, beliefs

Orumiyeh, IRNA - The Archbishop of Chaldean Catholic Church of northwestern Iran city of Orumiyeh, Thomas Meram, on Monday described Iran as a safe place for all ethnic groups and different beliefs.

Addressing a ceremony on the occasion of Christmas, Meram stressed peaceful living conditions for ethnic groups in Iran.

He termed Christmas as day of brotherhood and humanity.

He noted that the world will not forget martyr Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani since he uprooted ISIS and brought about peace.

Earlier, Archbishop of Armenians in Tehran Sebouh Sarkissian had described Saint Mary as a bridge that boosts interaction and dialogue between religions.
