Hojjatoleslam Shahriari leading a delegation arrived in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, today (Thursday) on the fifth day of his visit to Pakistan.
The Iranian delegation met with Siraj-ul-Haq, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, and senior officials of the party at Mansoora, headquarter of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Later an Islamic Unity Conference was held in the presence of political, religious figures, and religious elites in Lahore, organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami party.
Hojjatoleslam Shahriari attended this unifying event as a special guest.
Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, Member of Iranian Assembly of Experts, Morteza Frati, the Deputy Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, and Jafar Ronas, the Director of Iranian Culture Center also attended the conference.
Media personalities and senior members of Pakistan's various religious parties and groups were also present on the occasion.
The Iranian delegation is scheduled to meet the Minister of Religious Affairs of Punjab, Maulana Abdul Khubair Azad, chairman of Ruet-i-Hilal Committee and Imam of Badshahi Mosque, and other religious scholars.
The delegation will also visit the tomb of Allama Iqbal, Jamia Ashrafia, and the Iranian Culture Center during its three-day stay in Lahore.
