President Raisi made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto.
Noting that the level of relations between Iran and Hungary is not satisfactory, he said that the two countries can cooperate to upgrade bilateral relations.
The president referred to age-old relations between Iran and Eastern European countries and said that if these countries act independently, they will benefit both politically and economically.
The Hungarian foreign minister, for his part, criticized the performance of Western Countries and the NATO in Afghanistan and said that Budapest is now concerned about the flow of Afghan immigrants to Hungary.
Szijjarto also referred to a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian earlier in the day and said that the two countries agreed to accept vaccines produced in both countries for visa issuance so that nationals from both countries will be able to travel to the other country as of tomorrow (Friday).
