FM: Iran to export vaccines soon

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian announced that Hungary has agreed to accept the visa of Iranian citizens vaccinated with Iranian-made vaccines, and said that the Iranian vaccines will be exported to other countries in the near future.

Amirrabdollahian while speaking at a joint press conference with the visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó underscored that good talks and important agreements were reached between Iran and Hungary.

"We signed five documents today. The first document is a cultural one, which was signed between the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and the Hungarian Foreign Minister on behalf of their country," he said.

Amirabdollahian said that a memorandum of understanding on diplomatic cooperation between the two countries was also inked, adding that the customs cooperation document was signed and finalized.

"The document of the joint economic commission of the two countries is another achievement of this trip," he added.

The Iranian foreign minister said that thanks to the achievements of Iranian scientists who have succeeded in the mass production of Iranian vaccines in recent months, another document was also concluded in this field.

Amirabdollahian elaborated that based on the agreement, Hungary will accept the visa of Iranian citizens vaccinated with high standard local vaccines, he explained.

He also said that the Hungarian foreign minister brought with him a shipment of 100,000 donated vaccines for vaccination of Afghan refugees in Iran.

The Hungarian minister, for his part, referred to Iran’s hosting of some 3.5 million Afghan refugees before 2021 and said that another 300,000 has recently been added to the number.

Noting that if this wave of Afghan refugees moves towards Europe, it will cause security and epidemiological threats, Szijjarto said that Iran can play a significant role to prevent such threats.

He also said that his country would do its best to help the Vienna talks between Iran and the G4+1 to succeed.

He noted that even if the negotiations in Vienna fail to yield fruit, Hungary will ask other countries to have maximum cooperation with Iran.
