Zahedan-Quetta Chambers meeting on cards for boosting bilateral trade

Islamabad, IRNA --  Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan’s southwestern city of Quetta says a joint meeting of Zahedan and Quetta Chambers of Commerce would be held in thenear future with an aim of boosting bilateral trade.

Hassan Darvishvand said this during a meeting with a delegation of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) led by its President Fida Hussain Dashti in Quetta.

Appreciating the role of the Quetta Chamber in promoting trade relations between the two neighboring countries, he assured that the Islamic Republic of Iran will play its role in removing all obstacles to facilitate trade between the two countries.

Darvishvand continued that joint efforts are being made to pave the way for holding joint meetings of Zahedan and Quetta Chambers of Commerce, and said, "We hope to reach a conclusion on the date of this meeting in Zahedan as soon as possible."

Referring to the joint achievements of Iran and Pakistan in strengthening trade relations between the two countries over the past year, including the opening of new official border crossings and establishing border markets, he said the horizon of trade relations between the two countries was very clear and encouraging.

The Consul General of Iran in Quetta added that the Consulate General is ready to provide any facilities for the businessmen of Balochistan to assist in business affairs, and these services will be provided to the business community of the two neighboring provinces without interruption.

The businessmen present at the meeting, while appreciating the efforts of the Consul-General pointed to the two countries 'capabilities to strengthen trade relations, and added that the two governments' policies for closer Iran-Pakistan trade relations are very promising and encouraging.

During the meeting, Fida Hussain Dashti expressed hope that immediate steps would be taken to resolve all problems.

He added that the promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran guarantees economic stability and the well-being of people living on both sides of the border.
