Iranian, Afghan artists’ interaction would elevate Islamic art: Afghan activist

Tehran, IRNA – A member of Afghan Migrant Artists Association in Iran said that interaction between Muslims artists, including Iranian and Afghan artists, would elevate Islamic art in the world.

Nesar Ahmad Tajik told IRNA on the sidelines Iranian and Afghan Artists Forum on Saturday that shared culture and language between nations is the most eloquent media to improve Islamic culture and art, although Iran and Afghanistan are divided by political borders.

People of Iran and Afghanistan share a lot of things in cultural and artistic areas, in addition to language, which can make grounds for elevation of Islamic art in the world through strengthening interaction between the two nations, he said.

Tajik went on to add that the Afghan migrant artists in Pakdasht County, southeast of Tehran, have held over 10 cultural festivals during three decades of activity and over 50 Afghan artists have participated in the festivals.

He also said that 25 Afghan artists in visual arts fields have managed to win good places in international competitions.
