News.mrud.ir reported that the Iranian minister met with four foreign ambassadors, including Algerian envoy to Tehran, at Dadman Building of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development on Thursday. The meetings were organized by the center for international affairs of the ministry.
Expressing pleasure at long-term historical relations between Algeria and Iran, Qassemi underlined that growth of mutual ties with the African country in all economic, political and cultural arenas is among the Islamic Republic’s strategies.
As Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized, expansion of ties with Algeria is of great important for the Islamic Republic, the minister said, hoping that the level of all-out interactions in particular in economic field will experience good increase in the future.
He added that despite the fact that the two sides enjoy bilateral political understanding, the current level of cooperation is not satisfactory.
The member of 13th Iranian cabinet also expressed gratitude to the Algerian ambassador for his effort to hold commissions and boost political, economic and cultural cooperation, expressing hope that the precious experiences would help improve mutual collaborations in all arenas.
"Fortunately, during your presence at the Algerian embassy in Tehran, we witness holding joint commission and political committee as well as exchange of economic, political, parliamentary and cultural delegations," Qassemi addressed Ahriz.
He further expressed readiness to hold the fourth meeting of a joint economic commission, adding that growth of trade cooperation between the two nations will be beneficial for both sides.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the minister noted that Algeria and Iran can adopt common stance, when it comes to making decisions on different regional issues.
The Algerian ambassador, for his turn, said that despite all restrictions Iranian traders have tried to have an active presence in Algeria's market, and that Iranians have succeeded in accomplishing some projects in the country.
Although the projects have been usually small ones, Algeria opens the door for Iranian merchants to participate in larger projects, Ahriz noted.
"We are prepared to hold joint meetings between tradesmen of both countries," he said, adding that on the sidelines of President Raisi's inauguration ceremony in Tehran on August 3, the Iranian president and Algerian Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane underlined the need for expansion of mutual cooperation, calling for holding third joint economic commission.
Ahriz thanked Qassemi for his support, adding that he has traveled almost all Iranian cities. He described Iran as a clean country with some difficulties, but it is important that the Iranian authorities are attempting to resolve people's problems.
