Iranian official in Moscow to hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart on JCPOA

Moscow- IRNA- Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Political Affairs Ali Baqeri Kani arrived in Moscow on Thursday evening to hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Ryabkov on a new round of talks on lifting the sanctions imposed against Iran.

Upon his arrival in Moscow, Baqeri Kani said that under the agreement reached with the G4+1 countries, bilateral talks will be held with each of these countries to share views on lifting the US unlawful sanctions against the Iranian people. 

He expressed that the new talks will be held only with the aim of lifting the US unlawful sanctions.  

Kani added that the negotiations on the lifting of the oppressive and unlawful US sanctions will be resumed with the presence of three European countries, China and Russia.

This is his first working visit to Russia by Baqeri Kani as Iran's political deputy.

Examining the latest status of bilateral relations between Iran and Russia and consulting and exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments will be among the topics discussed by the Iranian delegation with the Russian side.

Baqeri Kani arrived in Brussels on Tuesday evening at the head of a diplomatic delegation to conclude the talks he had begun with Enrique Mora, coordinator of JCPOA joint commission meetings in Tehran.

In the meantime, the Iranian foreign ministry reported that the Baqeri Kani had consulted with EU officials, including Enrique Mora, on the effective lifting of sanctions and the adherence of other parties to their commitments.
