Iran's foreign trade tops 81% in 7 months

Tehran, IRNA - Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi said on Thursday that the value of Iran’s trade increased 81 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 28), as compared to the same period of last year.

Mirashrafi put the amount of exported goods during the period at 98.7 million tons, saying that the total value of exported goods was 27.1 billion dollars.

More than 23.5 million tons of goods worth 27.7 billion dollars have been imported, he noted.

He further noted that the main export destinations of Iran are China with 7.7 billion dollars in the first place, Iraq with 5.5 billion dollars in the second place, Turkey with 3.4 billion dollars, and the UAE with 2.6 billion dollars in the third and fourth places respectively, and Afghanistan with 1.1 billion dollars in the next place.
