Speaker Qalibaf congratulates counterparts in Islamic countries on Prophet’s birth

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf in separate messages on Sunday congratulated his counterparts in Islamic countries on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Qalibaf expressed hope in his message that sympathy and brotherhood among the Islamic Ummah would further strengthen in light of Islamic knowledge.

The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was born on 17th of lunar month Rabi' al-Awwal according to Shiite tradition. The Sunni tradition, on the other hand, believes his birth to be on 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal.

The Muslim World celebrates the day between the two dates as the Islamic Unity Week, as established by the late Imam Khomeini.
