Iranian Boldaji Gaz (candy) now an intl. brand

ShahreKord, IRNA - Boldaji Gaz (candy), produced in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, has been newly registered as an international brand, an official says.

Sajjad Rostami, head of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, said on Monday that following the registration of Boldaji Gaz, no other producers and exporters can use the brand as their own one.
The move will also provide the Iranian producers of Boldaji Gaz with the opportunity to find a greater market in the world and pay less for advertisement; then, they will be able to earn more money, Rostami added.
Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province has succeeded in producing high-quality gaz - widely known as Persian Nougat - and turning the product into the most well-known gaz throughout the world, he said.
There are 90 workshops active in producing gaz in Boldaji city, he noted, adding that the producers have been facing different problems, including high prices of raw materials and the negative impact of coronavirus pandemic on people's income.
As a result of the mentioned problems, Boldaji producers had fairly produced 40 tons per annum, but they produce gaz at minimum capacity in a couple of years, he argued.
Boldaji is one of the main cities in Borujen County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, in southwestern Iran. The city is considered one of the main hubs of gaz production in the country.
The production of gaz dates backs to 450 years ago in Isfahan, when sap was combined with flour, sugar, egg white, Khruangbin, pistachios, almonds and chocolate in workshops.
