Released on Monday on the wake of commemoration of renowned 14th century Persian poet Hafez of Shiraz on October 12, the message is dedicated to admiration of Persian literature and Hafez poetry, beginning with a couplet, saying,
Hafez utter speech, for on earth's surface, of thy eloquence,
only this picture remaineth the recollection of life.
In his message, Shalouei said that the Persian language has remained stable through century and eras and has expanded its territory from the Caucasus and Transoxiana to the very coasts of the Persian Gulf thanks to the aspirant people of letter and poets.
Hafez is a great figure of the Persian literature and language whose poetry is the extract of fear and hope, pain and relief, and love and excitement of the people of this country, he noted.
He also said that Hafez and Saadi are the two suns in the sky of Persian literature and revived the liveliness and eloquence of Persian poetry after four centuries of retreat.
Hafez of Shiraz should be considered as the symbol and forerunner of Persian language and culture whose speech is commemorated by everyone, from great literary men to ordinary people, according to Shalouei.
Hafez is not only the spirit of his own time, but also the spirit of all eras, Advisor to minister said, adding that Hafez approaches to the Persian language as the cornerstone of national identity.
The Secretary of Persian Language Commemoration Coordination Council also noted that commemorating Hafez’s name and work is equal to honoring Islamic-Iranian culture, literature, knowledge and spirituality and everyone who is tied to this space should try to introduce Hafez and his works to the society, including the youth.
