Iranian wrestler Delkhani wins 3rd Gold Medal

Tehran, IRNA – Meysam Delkhani, Iran national Greco-Roman wrestling team’s 63 kg beat his Georgian competitor in the final match of his weight and gained the world gold medal.

Before Delkhani, Iran's Mohammad-Hadi Saravi and Ali-Akbar Yusefi, too, had gained two more gold medals for Iran.

The 2021 Greco-Roman competitions that began on October 7 will end tonight (Sunday) after announcing the world top wrestlers and teams.

The ranking and final matches of the 60, 97, and 130 kg weights began at 7:30 p.m. yesterday at Jordal Wrestling Hall of Oslo, Norway.

Meysam Delkhani, the world youth gold medal holder in the final faced Larry Abuladze, the EU bronze medal holder from Georgia and beat him 5-4 to win the games gold medal and raise the number of the Iranian team’s gold medals to 3, which is unprecedented in the history of the world athletic matches.

Delkhani’s other medals include the silver and bronze Asian medals, the gold medal of the Asian youth, and the bronze medal of the world youth.
