Iran only accepts talks meeting interests of Iranian nation: Amirabdollahian

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that what is important in nuclear talks is that the talks has to meet the interests of the Iranian nation.

The Iranian foreign minister made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah Bou Habib after a meeting in Beirut earlier in the day.

If there is real intention on the other side and all of them return to their obligations in JCPOA, Tehran will return to its obligations too, Amirabdollahian said.

The verbal messages of the United States and the passive claims of the three European countries are not the criteria for the return of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the negotiations, he added.

He noted that Iran will act based on practical measures of the other parties, including the lifting of sanctions and their return to obligations under the deal.

The Iranian foreign minister also voiced Tehran’s readiness to help Lebanon in all areas.
