Presence of foreign forces cause of insecurity and instability in region: Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that the presence of foreign forces is a cause of insecurity and instability in the region.

Amirabdollahian, who is on a visit to Beirut, made the remarks in a meeting with the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

Speaking during the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister said that Iran will always stand by Lebanon.

He voiced Iran’s support for Beirut to overcome the problems.   

Both the Iranian foreign minister and the Lebanese parliament speaker stressed that the regional problems need to be solved by the people of the region.

They also discussed ongoing talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia and expressed upbeat about such negotiations.   

Amirabdollahian also met with Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun earlier in the day.
