Iran FM meets Lebanese Pres in Beirut

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held talks Thursday with Lebanese President Michel Aoun on international and regional developments.

According to the Thursday report of Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amirabdollahian who is now in Lebanon held the meeting in mid-day.

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian elaborated on the Islamic Republic of Iran's stance on international and regional developments, dialogue between Tehran and some foreign and Arab states, and the process of talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

In Beirut, which is the first visit of Amirabdollahian to Lebanon as new Iranian foreign minister, he expressed Iran's strong support for the country.

He noted the Islamic Republic is ready to extend all-out support for Lebanon in the present difficult economic conditions.

The foreign minister also met with Lebanese parliament speaker.

According to Lebanese media, Iranian foreign minister and his delegation arrived in Beirut on early on Thursday.
