Mutual respect, condition of resumption of talks

Tehran, IRNA – َ A senior Iranian lawmaker said on Thursday that the talks will be resumed under the condition of mutual interest and respect.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has already expressed explicitly its stance on talks about revival of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini told IRNA.

Once, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said that the US should know that all give and take has been done once at the JCPOA; and now, Vienna talks are for guaranteeing US return to its commitments, not for a new agreement.

Meshkini, who is the spokesman of Majlis' National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, underlined that the other party should take "this opportunity" as long as it is not yet for.

Due to their official and unofficial messages, it is predicted that the other party will return to the talks; meanwhile, time for talks is not specified yet, the lawmaker noted.

US withdrew unilaterally from the July 2015 nuclear deal in May 2018 and imposed the highest level of sanctions on Iran in November the same year.

Iranian officials insist that as long as the US has not lifted the sanctions, Iran will not agree to let it rejoin the deal.
