Regional states would pay big price if they threaten Iranian interests: MP

Qom, IRNA – Qom city representative in the Iranian Parliament Mojtaba Zonnouri said on Monday that countries in the region would pay a big price, if they pose a threat against Iranian interests.

Zonnouri said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized good neighborliness and respecting territorial integrity of countries, especially with regard to the neighboring countries.

The Islamic countries are of greater importance to Iran, as we have a religious intimacy feeling towards them, he added.

Good neighborliness and mutual respect requires other countries to also respect Iran and don’t pose a threat against the Iran, according to Zonnouri.

If a country relies on the foes of Iran to provide them with security and allow them to have presence behind our borders or wish to change borders, this would cause a feeling of threat in Iran, the MP noted.

Zonnouri criticized Azerbaijan Republic President Ilham Aliyev, saying that he has miscalculated that if they make an alliance with Turkey and the Israeli regime, they would be able to cut Iran’s access to Armenia through joint borders.

He warned all countries in the region, Azerbaijan Republic and Turkey in particular, that the Islamic Republic of Iran would remain friend until they extend friendly hands, or they would pay a big price if they pose a threat against Iran.
