Deputy FM meets Iranians residing in Oman

Tehran, IRNA – A group of Iranians expatriates in Oman met and talked with Iran's deputy foreign minister for consular affairs in Muscat on Wednesday.

In the meeting in the presence of the Iranian Ambassador to Muscat Ali Najafi, a number of embassy staffs and the Islamic Republic of Iran foundations in Oman the Iranians residing in Oman put forth their viewpoints on facilitation for their residence and activities in Oman.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi, too, said in the meeting that many of the problems with which the Iranians residing abroad are faced with are due to distancing from the Iranian culture, identity and history.

He, meanwhile, expressed hope that relying on the will and determination of the Iranians residing in Oman and the support and guidance of the Embassies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Muscat "we will be witnesses to the establishment of an Iranians Association in Oman".

Sajjadi, meanwhile, considered preservation of the Iranian identity and safeguarding the Farsi (Persian) language abroad of the factors that will lead to boosting the Iranians prestige and credibility.

Since the visa requirement for the Iranian wishing to enter Oman has been lifted, the Iranian ambassador emphasized that through greater effective cooperation and interactions with Omani officials the ground will be paved for greater presence and activities of the Iranians in Oman.
