Iran interior minister stresses role of Iran, Turkey in establishment of regional stability

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said on Monday said that Iran and Turkey are two key regional powers that can play a significant role in the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

Speaking during a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Suleyman Soylu, Vahidi underlined the shared responsibility of Iran and Turkey to foster self-developed security in the region.

Referring to President Ebrahim Raisi’s resolve to enhance relations with neighboring countries, Vahidi said, “We see this policy not only as a geographical determinism but also as a deeply cultural intellectual necessity between the two countries.”

The Turkish minister, for his part, called for further cooperation between the interior ministries of Iran and Turkey.

He expressed hope that relations between the two countries will enhance more than ever.
