On the sidelines of the 34th Moscow International Exhibition on Sunday, Sergei Dmitriev told IRNA that Iran-Russia political relations are at a high level and the two countries are relatively cooperating in the economic field, as well. So, there is a wide and clear horizon for the development of cultural cooperation between Iran and Russia, which can be used to expand bilateral ties.
Saying that the low level of cultural ties between Iran and Russia is unpleasant, he added that he had already traveled to Iran six times and after getting acquainted with the cultural relations between the two countries, he believes that tourism and cultural relations between the two countries should be expanded.
Dimitriev added that Iranian books should be published in Russia and Russian books in Iran, and then the cultural ties between the two countries would expand.
According to the head of the 30-year old Russian publishing institute, the publication company has published more than 25 Iranian books on Iranian history and literature in Russian.
He noted that he had recently talked to the managing director of Iranian Book and Literature Home and that the Vache Institute was scheduled to participate in next year's Tehran Book Fair, adding that the Russian institute would publish Iranian books.
