Amirabdollahian meets members of Iran Interests Section in Washington

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian minister of foreign affairs met and conferred with the members of the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington on Saturday in New York.

On the last day of his visit of New York, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian had an intimate meeting and talk with the members of the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington and was personally informed about the status of service offering to the Iranians residing in the United States, the challenges they are facing.

Amirabdollahian exchanged viewpoints with the interests section officials and issued necessary orders.

In the meeting in the presence of Iran’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht-e Ravanchi and Amirabdollahian’s accompanying delegation, the Iranian foreign minister elaborated the new Iranian government’s policies for the Iranians residing abroad, informing them that the president and the judiciary chief are determined to preserve the prestige of the Iranians throughout the world, resolve their problems and facilitate their affairs with the homeland.

Referring to the elite nature and being highly learned of the large society of the society of Iranians in the United States, Amirabdollahian said that the Iranians in America are a unique asset and opportunity, that need to be boosted and the entire organizations at their service must be fully supported.

He, meanwhile, listed the moves done in various parts of the Foreign Ministry to facilitate offering better consular services, some of which are in the process of designing and implementation, one of the most important ones related to the embassies and the consular offices is offering restless and incessant services to the entire dear Iranian citizens.

He said that evermore coming to Iran and traveling back of the Iranians living abroad will lead to strengthening Iran on the one hand and peace of mind of the elite society of Iranians on the other hand.

“The government and the Foreign Ministry, too, are committed to eliminate the obstacles and decrease the unnecessary bureaucratic processes, and to reform the rules and regulations aimed at facilitating the service rendering as much as possible,” said Amirabdollahian.
