-- Iran in frontline of promoting global peace, friendship: Navy chief

Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said the Islamic Republic stands at the forefront of the campaign to establish and promote international peace and friendship.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the sixth round of the international military competition codenamed ‘Sea Cup’ in the northern Iranian port city of Bandar Anzali on Saturday, Rear Admiral Irani added that the Iranian Army’s Navy attaches special importance to constant communication and dialogue among countries.
He noted that Iran does not look for a rank in the competitions it takes part in; but intends to test the capability of its Armed Forces at an international level.

-- Iran’s trade value predicted to grow €5b by yearend: TPO

 The head of Commercial Services Development Office at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) said that it is predicted that value of foreign trade will experience a €5 billion growth by the end of the Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2022).
Citing the upward trend of Iran’s exports despite sanctions and the coronavirus pandemic, Ehsan Qamari, in an interview with IRNA, said, “It is predicted that Iran’s value of foreign trade will increase by €5 billion by the yearend both in terms of imports and exports.

-- Iranian national hero Rais Ali Delvari commemorated in Bushehr

A commemoration ceremony was held for the Iranian national hero Rais Ali Delvari in Delvar, Bushehr Province, according to the southwestern province’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department.
The historical house of Rais Ali on Friday hosted the commemorative ceremony attended by writers, experts, and descendants of the Iranian fighter, CHTN reported.
To implement health protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the ceremony was not held in person; rather, it was broadcast online on the Bushehr IRIB TV channel, said the deputy head of Bushehr Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department, Nasrollah Ebrahimi.
Rais Ali Delvari was an Iranian independence fighter and anti-British colonialism activist (1882-1915).

-- Iraq’s Grand Ayatollah Hakim Passes Away

Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Said al-Hakim, one of Iraq’s top Shia clerics, passed away on Friday aged 85 in the holy city of Najaf after a heart attack, sources close to him said.
Funeral ceremonies were held on Saturday in Najaf and its twin holy city of Karbala. He was buried in Najaf, home to the shrine of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam and relative of Prophet Muhammad (Peace upon Him).

Ayatollah Hakim reportedly “underwent surgery three days ago in hospital in Najaf and succumbed today to a heart attack”. Iraqi President Barham Saleh in a statement paid homage to the “prominent figure” in Shia Islam.

-- The head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) for Commercial Services Development Office Ehsan Ghamari on Saturday said that it is predicted that value of foreign trade will experience a €5 billion growth by yearend (Mar. 20, 2022).
Ghamari said that country’s foreign trade is expected to hit €5 billion before termination of the current Iranian calendar year (to end March 20, 2022).
Turning to the increasing exports trend of the country despite sanctions and spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic, he stipulated, “It is predicted that Iran’s value of foreign trade will hit €5 billion by the yearend both in terms of imports and exports.”

-- Azizi Adds Another Gold to Iran Tally at Tokyo Paraolympics

 Parataekwondoka Asghar Azizi Aghdam won a gold medal at Tokyo Paraolympics to increase the number of the gold medals won by Iranian para-athletes so far to 12.
Asghar Azizi Aghdam from Iran collected a gold medal for his country at +75kg category in the parataekwondo contests at the Tokyo Paralympics on Saturday.
In Tokyo Olympics so far, the Iranian para-athletes have won 12 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 1 bronze medal to stand at the 12th place at Tokyo Paralympics.

-- Ex-AEOI chief optimistic about nuclear progress during Eslami's tenure

 Fereydoun Abbasi, former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), has backed the appointment of Mohammad Eslami as the new IAEO chief, calling him a competent person. In an order on August 29, President Ebrahim Raisi appointed Eslami as vice president and chief of AEOI, replacing Ali Akbar Salehi who served the post since August 2013.

Eslami has a master’s degree in civil engineering from Ohio University. He also holds MBA in global aviation management from the University of Sharif and Royal Rhodes University. 

-- Iranian minister invited to St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum  

Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova has invited her Iranian counterpart to attend the 9th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. In a letter sent to Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili, she also congratulated him on his appointment as Iran’s new culture minister, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced on Saturday.

Government and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and government of St. Petersburg are the organizers of the forum, which will be held in the Russian city from November 11 to 13.

-- Exports from Shahid Rajaee port rises 28% in 5 months on year

 Exports from Shahid Rajaee port, Iran’s largest and best-equipped container port, increased 28 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, according to a provincial official.

Alireza Mohammadi Karajiran, the director-general of Ports and Maritime Department of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, where the port lies, said that 189,129 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of commodities were exported to different countries from Shahid Rajaee port in the said months.
