Iranian envoy urges fair access to outer space

London, IRNA - Iran's Ambassador to the Vienna-based International Organizations urged the right to fair access to outer space.

Kazem Gharibabadi made the remarks at the 64th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).

He outlined the following points concerning the measures of the states in the field:

-Equal access to space by all states, without discrimination and regardless of their level of scientific and technical, as well as economic developments.

-Rational and equal use of ultraviolet space for the benefit of all people in the world.

-Not seizing the outer space, including the moon and other celestial bodies with claims of sovereignty, use, occupation, or under the pretext of excuses;

-Responsibility of governments for their national space activities done by governmental and non-governmental organizations.

-Civilianity of outer space.

-Preventing the installation of any ammunition in space.

-Making use of the space as humanity's common heritage for peaceful purposes.

-International cooperation in the development of space activities, with particular attention to the needs of developing states.
