Iran Fakhra COVID-19 vaccine near to mass production

Tehran, IRNA – Production of Iranian-developed Fakhra vaccine has reached its final phases and will be mass-manufactured in the near future, Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Mohammad Reza Qaraei Ashtiani announced on Saturday.

General Ashtiani made the remarks during his meeting with former minister of defense.

In producing COVID-19 vaccine, which is among the country's main priorities, Iran has achieved good successes, he said.

Ashtiani, who has recently been appointed as Minister of Defense, said his Ministry tries to design and produce new products.

Further, he appreciated the former defense minister for his efforts in this regard.

On December 29, 2020, Iran's Barekat Foundation conducted human trial of COVID-19 vaccine by injecting it to the first volunteer at the first phase.

Since its outbreak in December 2019 worldwide, coronavirus has killed over 4,500,000.

The number of the dead in Iran has passed 105,000.
