Official: Iran’s medical services in Afghanistan still underway

Tehran, IRNA – The head of Iran Red Crescent Society in Nimruz said humanitarian activities in Zaranj city are still underway, adding that the operation rooms, the pharmacy, the maternity ward, and the laboratory are active

Saying that about 300 patients refer to the mentioned medical centers each day, Hassan Mahmoudi said that Taliban forces took control of Zaranj city on August 6.

He added that the clinic was closed due to concerns regarding damage or robbery, but it resumed its activities after three days.

The Iranian personnel of the clinic have returned home, but local personnel resumed medical activities, Mahmoudi noted.

Iranian Red Crescent Society have 13 active centers in South America, Africa, and Asia.
