Iranian 86kg wrestler bags gold in Junior World Championship

Tehran, IRNA – Amir-Hossein Firouzpour won Iran’s fourth gold medal in 2021 Russia Junior World Championship, defeating a French athlete (10-0) in the final match of the 86kg freestyle weight category.

The Junior World Championship began in Ufa, Russia, on Monday and ends today (Wednesday).

Iran’s Rahman Amouzadeh (61kg), Erfan Elahi (70kg), and Mohammad Nokhodi (79kg) had already won gold medals. Also, Ali-Reza Abdollahi won a bronze medal in the weight category of 97kg.

Mehdi Hajianlou (92kg) and Ali Akbarpour (125 kg) are yet to face their rivals in final matches of their weight category for gold medal.
