Raisi: Current level of Iran-Bolivia ties insufficient

Tehran, IRNA – President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with visiting Bolivian foreign minister expressed unhappiness with the current level of ties with Bolivia and said bilateral relations are insufficient and unsatisfactory keeping in mind both countries’ capacities.

He told Rogelio Mayta on Wednesday that "together, we need to devise methods for comprehensive expansion of cooperation and tieson."

Pointing to significance of expansion of ties and strengthening of cooperation between Iran and Bolivia, President Raisi reiterated: The two countries have broad fields for expansion of their bilateral ties, which need to be identified to serve both nations’ interests.

The president referred to the US displeasure with the current improving trend of Iran-Bolivia ties, as well as Iran’s amicable ties with other Latin American countries and reiterated that the two countries are determined to expand our ties with your country as much as possible, despite the arrogant powers’ will to serve both nations’ interests.

America and the other arrogant world powers are displeased and angry that Bolivia is standing on its own feet based on your nation’s will, but beyond doubt, the independent and freedom seeking nations, such as the Bolivians can keep on paving their path towards advancement and wellbeing despite the arrogant powers’ will, added Raisi.

Mayta, too, in the meeting conveyed the Bolivians government and nations’ warm congratulations to President Raisi for winning the presidential elections and announced his country’s will and interest in further deepening and strengthening of friendly ties with Iran.
“Despite the US sabotage, we are determined to expand our comprehensive ties and cooperation with Tehran,” added Mayta.
