Syrian speaker arrives in Tehran to attend presidential inauguration

Tehran, IRNA – Syrian Parliament Speaker Hamuda Sabbaq arrived in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president.

Sabbaq was officially received on Tuesday at the airport by a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Abbas Golru, and the deputy head of the Iran-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The inauguration ceremony of President Ebrahim Raisi will be held on Thursday, July 5, at the Iranian Parliament.

The Syrian Parliament speaker said upon his arrival at the airport that he is here to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Raisi, adding that speaking about the great depth of bilateral ties between Iran and Syria is beyond the capacity of words, as they are quite deep-rooted, stronger than imagination, and significantly different.

It is a great pride for me and my accompanying delegation that President Bashar al-Assad chose us to attend this ceremony, Sabbaq added.

The Syrian Parliament speaker meanwhile noted that the blood of the Syrians and the Iranians are mixed with each other and that is what contributes to the strength and depth of the comprehensive bilateral ties.
