Zangeneh: US sanctions made Iran lose $100 billion In exports

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh on Monday said that US sanctions have cost Iran $100 billion in lost export revenues that could have been invested in the country’s development.

Zangeneh was speaking at  the meeting of Iranian President with top government managers.

He added that oil products exports in Rouhani’s Government is not comparable to the pre - sanctions period, adding, during the previous period, "we had more than one million barrels of crude oil exemptions for exports, but in this period we had many problems for exporting".

Zangeneh went on to say that in the meantime, "we could not export or sell more than $ 100 billion of our crude oil and US sanctions prevented us" for oil sales.
