Iranian envoy condoles demise of Pakistan’s former president

Islamabad, July 15, IRNA -- The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan expressed his deepest condolences on the demise of former President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.

Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini in a tweet on Thursday said: I express my heartfelt condolences on sad demise of Mamnoon Hussain, former president of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

“May Allah Almighty keep his soul in rest and grant patience and forbearance to the bereaved family,” he said.

Hussain, 80, passed away in Karachi on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.

He was born on December 23, 1940 in the city of Agra in the Indian subcontinent. After Pakistan's creation in 1947, Mamnoon Hussain and his family moved to Karachi.

Mamnoon Hussain, member of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, was elected 12th president of Pakistan in 2013 and served till 2018.
