Intelligence Minister confers with Iraqi Speaker, NSA

Baghdad, IRNA – Iran’s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi met Iraq’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi and National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the Iraq’s Speaker emphasized the importance of supporting Iraq’s security and stability.

Alavi condoled al-Halbousi on the death of tens of Iraqis in the explosion of a hospital in Nasiriyah. He reaffirmed Iran’s support of Iraq in all areas.

They both reaffirmed boosting bilateral ties and continuation of cooperation between the two countries.

Elsewhere in his trip to Iran, Alavi met Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and condoled him on the event in Nasiriyah.

Alavi and al-Araji emphasized boosting cooperation between Iran and Iraq in line with the interests of both nations.

They discussed the security and political situation in regional and international level and the ways to strengthen bilateral ties.

Alavi had previously met Iraq’s President Barham Saleh.
