Official: Iran Red Crescent Society ready to send relief items to Iraqi hospital inferno

Tehran, IRNA – President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Karim Hemmati offered readiness for sending relief items to Iraq to help them with regard to deadly fire in Imam Hossein Hospital in Nasiriyah.

Speaking in a phone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart Yasin Ahmed Abbas, Hemmati said he expressed IRCS readiness to help Iraq.

He sympathized with Iraq over the deadly accident.

Based on unofficial reports, fire in Imam Hossein Hospital in Nasiriyah has so far claimed the lives of 60 people and many other were trapped in the hospital.

Many of the COVID19 patients were hospitalized at the accident site.
