-- Tehran urges effective lifting of US sanctions against Iran

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that the United States has to lift its sanctions on Iran in an effective manner, adding that lots of draft texts of a possible agreement in Vienna talks are prepared.

Khatibzadeh made the remarks while speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon following Foreign Ministry forwarded a quarterly report to the Iranian Parliament on the Vienna talks for revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

-- Raeisi: Effective measures required to improve people’s livelihoods, tourism sector

Iran’s President-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi urged more effective measures to improve people’s livelihoods and the country’s tourism sector, in separate meetings with outgoing ministers on Monday.
In an address to his meeting with Justice Minister Alireza Avaei, Raeisi noted that the State Discretionary Punishment Organization must play a more effective supervisory role in regulating the domestic market, restoring economic stability and improving the people’s livelihoods.

-- Hafez’ tomb welcomes hundreds of visitors every day

Hafez is one of the greatest poets in the history of Persian literature. A Hafez anthology is found in any Iranian house. His legacy goes beyond the Persian language and borders of Iran to influence poets in all the other Persian-speaking countries.

-- Tabriz Refinery Saves €1.8mn in Building Cooling Unit

The project manager of the cooling unit of Tabriz Oil Refinery Ali Naderinia said the projected credit for the implementation of the cooling unit project was €6 million, which reached €4.2 million due to the change in the executive approach and internalization of parts.”
Naderinia said: “In order to solve the problem of cooling water of the new oil and gas treatment unit of the company and in order to increase the network pressure and supply water to new units with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per hour, the cooling project was defined on March 6, 2017 and was completed after about three years.”

-- Pakistani Official Seeks to Enhance Energy Cooperation With Iran

Pakistan’s Minister for Energy Muhammad Hammad Azhar in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador Muhammad Ali Husseini on Monday has expressed the commitment to work for further enhancing energy cooperation with Iran.
The two sides discussed matters relating to cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
“Hammad Azhar while underscoring the importance of Iranian electricity import to the neighboring districts of Baluchistan especially Gawadar, said that it is playing pivotal role in provision of electricity to these area,” the statement said.

-- Iranian Film ‘The Sea’ to Premier Soon

” The Sea” directed by Sahra Ramezanian has reached the final stages of production.
According to the public relations of this work, the short film “ The Sea” written and directed by Sahra Ramezanian and produced by Ilia Shams and Mohammad Kazem Shiran will be prepared for presentation in Iran and foreign festivals after its production stages.
The summary of the story of this film is as follows: “A few friends are planning to travel to the north of the country and are preparing for this trip, but ...”
Farzaneh Salahshour, Farzad Alavi, Pouya Haghighi, Sahra Ramezanian are the actors of this short film.


-- Ambassador predicts Iran-Iraq ties will become stronger during Raisi presidency

 The special envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for Iraq met with Iraj Masjedi, Iran’s ambassador in Baghdad on Monday.

During the meeting, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert discussed the latest political, security and upcoming parliamentary elections in Iraq with Masjedi.

For his part, Ambassador Masjedi said that Iran will support security, stability, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections in Iraq.

-- “Girl Flies in Prayer” wins FIAP Gold Medal at Vernon-Normandy photo exhibit

Iranian photographer Ahmad Khatiri’s “Girl Flies in Prayer” was honored with the FIAP Gold Medal - FIAP blue ribbon J2 at the Vernon-Normandy Photograph Exhibition in France.

He won the prize in the photojournalism category for the black and white photo depicting a little girl opening her arms like wings among a group of Muslims during a congregational prayer. 

In this category, his photo “Alone” also received GPU White Ribbon J1 - FIAP blue ribbon J3. This photo shows a little boy clad in a military uniform marching with a company of troops.  

-- Work starts to restore wind towers as reminiscent of genius Persian architecture

A new round of restoration projects has been commenced on wind towers in the historical texture of the village of Laft on Qeshm Island.

The project aims at restoring four centuries-old wind towers (badgirs), which are reminiscent of innovative Persian architecture in oasis towns or scorching places, the provincial tourism chief has said. 

A budget of three billion rials ($71,400 at the official exchange rate of 42,000 rials per dollar) has been allocated to the project, Sohrab Banavand announced on Monday.
