Aide to President Putin stresses enhanced Iran-Russia ties

Moscow, IRNA – Andrei Fursenko, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on Tuesday that further bolstering of relations between Iran and Russia in the world’s much complicated situation of today is an inevitable necessity.

Fursenko made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali where the Iranian ambassador presented to Fursenko a written reply to a congratulatory message by President Putin to Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi.

During the meeting, the Russian envoy hailed Iran's independent policy, saying Iran's resistance and independence has made a role model for many world countries.

The Iranian ambassador, for his part, expressed hope that during the new Iranian president in office, Tehran and Moscow will witness a new chapter in growth of bilateral cooperation.

Following the victory of Ebrahim Raisi in Iran’s June 18 presidential election, President Putin was the first head of state to send a congratulatory message to him.
