President Assad, President-elect Raisi emphasize need to boost bilateral cooperation

Tehran, IRNA – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a phone call on Monday evening congratulated President-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s election, and they both believed the need for further strengthening Tehran-Damascus comprehensive cooperation.

According to the IRNA Political Desk, the Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported that President Assad in this phone talk with President Elect Raisi meanwhile wished further progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran during Raisi’s tenure, and continuation of Iran’s achievements in all possible fields.

SANA further reported President Assad and President Elect Raisi as being both agreed on the need for further strengthening bilateral comprehensive cooperation as well as continuous consultations on issues of mutual interest, and harmony between the two countries in that field.

Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi won the 13th Presidential Elections of the Islamic Republic of Iran with more than 18 million votes to become the 8th Iranian president.
