Iranian Markazi Province exports rise up $174m in 3 months

Arak, IRNA -- The exports of non-oil commodities from the central Iranian province of Markazi reached 217,000 tons with the value of $174 million during the first quarter of the current Iranian Year (starting on March 21), a senior official said on Monday.

A provincial official at the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Markazi Province Asghar Jafari told IRNA on Monday that most of Markazi Province consignments were exported to the Commonwealth of Independent States (C.I.S) countries such as (Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan) as well as India and China during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

The TPO deputy added that Markazi province’s main exports included hydrocarbons, polyethylene, aluminum ingots, glass, steel, food, tiles, and ceramics.

Markazi Province in central Iran consists of 12 counties and is home to 1.41 million people. It is one of Iran’s major industrial and agricultural hubs.
