Birth anniv. of Imam Reza (AS) celebrated in Pakistan’s Multan

Islamabad, June 26, IRNA -- A cultural gathering on the occasion of Decade of Dignity and to celebrate birth anniversaries of Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (AS) was held by Culture Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan’s Multan.

Shiite and Sunni cultural figures in the city of Multan participated in the celebration of the birthday of Imam Reza (AS).

Zahida Bukhari, Public Relations Officer Multan Khana-e-Farhnag, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) south Punjab secretary general Allama Iqtidar Hussain Naqvi, Allamah Mostafa Khan and other guests expressed their views on the occasion and praised the personalities of Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (AS).

The speakers stated the historical sermon of Imam Reza (AS) in Nishapur drew a line between truth and falsehood.

Referring to the greatness of the shrine of Imam Reza, they emphasized: The grace of Imam Reza (AS) continues even today and his holy shrine is a source of blessing for the Muslims. They added the shrine of Imam is also called Riyadh Al-Jannah, which means paradise on earth.

While congratulating the birth of Imam Reza (AS) and the Decade of Dignity, Allama Iqtidar Hussain Naqvi said Mamoon Abbasi tried to make the position of Imam Reza (AS) insignificant.

He noted when Imam entered Khorasan, the people came to greet him knowing that nobody could diminish the truth and the person on right path will always be victorious.

Allama Mujahid Abbas Gardizi, a prominent Shiite cleric in the city of Multan, also spoke about the various aspects of the lives of Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (AS).

He said it is necessary to study the teachings of these elders and the family of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
