Envoy appreciates massive election turnout of Iranians residing in Iraq

Baghdad, June 18, IRNA - The doors of the polling stations in Baghdad were closed today at 6 p.m. local time, and Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi appreciated the Iranian expatriates in the neighboring country for their high voter turnout in the presidential election.

Masjedi on Friday thanked the Iranians living in Iraq for their huge presence in the polling stations and also the executive and regulatory agents for holding the presidential election.

Masjedi also thanked the Iraqi government and the security and disciplinary forces for their effective role in the successful holding of this important event.

Simultaneously with the presidential election in the country, it was also held in 6 polling stations consisting of 14 ballot boxes in Iraq with a glorious welcome from Iranians residing in that country.
