Iranians in Denmark cast votes in presidential election

London, June 18, IRNA – Iranians in Denmark cast their votes on Friday in a voting center provisioned for the 13th presidential election in Iran.

Voting for the 13th presidential election in Denmark started at 8:00 a.m. at the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Copenhagen with a magnificent presence of Iranian compatriots living in the country.

The voting process will continue until 18:00 local time in Denmark and the Iranian expatriates will be notified if it is necessary by the Executive Board to extend the voting time for a limited period.

The Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen has been publishing a series of announcements on its website and other means of communication for weeks, inviting all Iranian nationals residing in Denmark to go to the polling station located in the Building of the Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen to participate in the presidential election.

Iran’s presidential election is being held nationwide, as well as in 133 countries. 59,310,307 Iranians are eligible to vote, from which 1.3 million are first-voters and 3.5 million are Iranian expatriates, according to statistics from the Ministry of Interior.

Some 500 international journalists from 226 foreign media are covering the event in Iran.

Presidential candidates include Expediency Discernment Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei Mirqaed, Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeesi, MP Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi, and former Governor of the Central Bank Abdolnaser Hemmati. Saeed Jalili, Mohsen Mehralizadeh, and Alireza Zakani, three other presidential candidates, dropped out of the presidential race.

The 13th presidential election is held simultaneous with the sixth round of city and village councils elections, the first mid-term for the 11th parliament’s by-election, and the second mid-term for the fifth Assembly of Experts election.
