Iranian athletes bag 6 gold, silver and bronze medals in 1st day of Asian Taekwondo 

Tehran, June 16, IRNA – Iranian Taekwondo athletes gained six medals, including a gold, a silver and four bronze medals on the first day of the 2121 Beirut Asian Taekwondo Championship.

The games are held in the Lebanese capital city in the presence of 189 athletes from 21 countries and will last till Friday.

Today the matches in men’s 46, 53 and 75kg weighs and women’s matches in 73Kg weigh were held in which Mir Hashem Hosseini (67Kg), Negar Esmaili (46Kg), Qazal Soltani (53Kg), Nahid Kiani (57Kg) were the representatives of the Iranian nation in the games.

Hossein Lotfi (54Kg), Mohammad Reza Khani (87Kg), Fereshte Khazaie (46kg), and Zeinab Esmaili (73Kg), too, who had in World Taekwondo Grand Slam Championship gained shares for attending these games, too, went up the Shiapchang (Taekwondo mattress). 

In competitions of the 1st day Negar Esmaili gained a gold medal, while Hossein Lotfi gained a silver, and the 4 bronze medals of the Iranian national team were gained by Qazal Soltani, Nahid Kiani, Feshteh Khazaie, and Zeinab Esmaili.

Mir Hashem Hoseini and Mohammad Reza Khani, too, competed, but gained no medals.
In tomorrow competitions Armin Hadipur (85Kg), Amir Mohammad Bakhshi (74kg), Sajjad Mardani (87Kg), Parisa Javadi 62Kg), and Zahra Pur Esamil (73Kg) will compete with their competitors.

Meanwhile, Mahdi Zargar (74Kg) and Nafise Rangraz Zadeh (73Kg), who had gained shared for presence in these gained are Iran’s other athletes who will compete on the 3rd and last day of the matches.

The Iranian men’s team’s head coach is Fariborz Asgari and Vahid Abdollahi is his first deputy. Mahru Kamrani, Fetemeh Safarpur and Reihaneh Fuladi, too, are the women’s team’s coaches.
