Iranian Para-Taekwondo Team ranks 1st in Asia, Khanlarkhani best coach

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – Iranian Naitonal Para Taekwondo Team won 4 gold, one silver and two bronze medals to register its sixth mighty gain and rank 1st for 6th consecutive year.

The 6th Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship was held today (on Tuesday) featuring 84 athletes from 20 countries in Beirut, Lebanon.

At the end of the competitions the Iranian National Para Taekwondo Team ranked first mightily with four gold medals of Mahdi Pur Rahnama, Asqar Azizi, Saeed Sadeqian, and Mahtab Nabavi, one silver medal of Hamed Haqshenas, and two bronze medals of Mahdi Bahrami Azar and Rayehe Shahab for the 6th consecutive year.

Kazakhstan with three gold and one bronze medal ranked second and Turkey that had attended as a guest team won two gold, two silver and 4 bronze medals to rank 3rd.

The Iranian national team’s Head Coach Payam Khanlarkhani gained the best coach title, and Asqar Azizi gained the gold medal of the most technical athlete.

Since in Mahtab Nabavi’s weigh there were not enough athletes, she gained the chance to also compete at the higher weigh, but in her own weigh, too, she gained a gold medal.
