Baghdasar Chalukians, representative of Golestan province in the Armenian Caliphate Council of the northern Iran, told IRNA on Friday that Imam Khomeini had such a charisma that he could mobilize all walks of life from Muslims to Armenians, Zoroastrians and Jews.
The acceptance emerged once more when it came to the sacred defense (Iraq-Iran war), when numerous followers of religious minorities took arms and defended the country, Chalukians noted.
He also described Imam Khomeini as a figure, who could make history and destroy the dominance of imperial powers of his time.
Imam Khomeini was living a simple life and knew himself as a person, who should serve the Iranian people; so, the Iranian nations is determined to continue his great path, he added.
The Armenians of Golestan province with the population of less than 100 people commemorate late Imam Khomeini on the occasion of his demise on June 4.
