COVID-19 kills 171 more Iranians over past 24 hours

Tehran, June 1, IRNA – The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 80,327 with 171 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

Some 171 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 80,327, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

10,687 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 1,600 of whom were hospitalized, it said.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 2,477,596 patients out of a total of 2,923,823 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Some 4,064 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in intensive care units, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry went on to say that 19,059,238 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country.

The Health Ministry also announced that 3,786,268 people have so far received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 526,326 people have also received the second dose.
