Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers rank 2nd in Turkey competitions

Tehran, May 30, IRNA – Iran’s National Junior Greco-Roman Wrestling team ranked second at a tournament in Istanbul, Turkey with nine colorful medals on Sunday.

The Iranian wrestlers grabbed seven gold medals and two silver ones to rank second following the hosts.

Amir-Reza Dehbozorgi in 55-, Iman Mohammadi in 63-, Danial Sohrabi in 67-, Amir Abdi in 72-, Alireza Mohammadi in 77-, Mohammad Naghousi in 82- and Morteza Alghousi in 97-weight categories won gold medals, with Mohammad-Mehdi Javaheri and Amir-Mohammd Bayat, in 55- and 130- weight classes respectively, winning silver medals.

Ali Abedi was the only Iranian wrestler who failed to receive a medal.

The competitions had begun two days earlier on May 28.
