-- Iran stores more floating barrels ahead of potential sanctions relief

Iran is boosting its offshore oil storage as chances of a new nuclear deal grow higher, which will enable it to reclaim its lost oil market share, trading and shipping sources said.
Iran is preparing for a quick ramp-up of its output and exports as the US, Iranian and European negotiators kicked off the fifth round of indirect talks on Tuesday in Vienna over the deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

-- SNSC agrees to extend IAEA monitoring as an act of goodwill: Spox

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) agreed to extend for a further month a temporary technical understanding allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to continue necessary verification and monitoring work in the country to show the Islamic Republic’s goodwill.
The Iranian government’s spokesman Ali Rabiei made the remarks at a press conference on Tuesday, saying the decision was made following assessments of the progress of the Vienna talks between Tehran and the remaining signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the restoration of the deal and consultations at the Islamic Establishment’s top levels.

-- Defense Minister: Iran’s Missile Development Top Priority

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami on Tuesday said advancing and further reinforcing the country’s missile power is a top priority of his ministry.
General Amir Hatami made the remark at a meeting with members of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis)’s Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy . The meeting was held after the lawmakers paid a visit to an exhibition displaying the Ministry’s latest achievements.
Hatami said the missile industry had made great strides in the area of manufacturing surface-to-surface and armor-piercing projectiles that in turn served to further invigorate the country’s ground battle prowess.

-- Rouhani to Aoun: Resistance Only Way

In a message for his Lebanese counterpart, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday congratulated the Arab country on the anniversary of liberation of its southern regions from Israeli occupation back in 2000, describing resistance as the only way to ward off Zionist aggression.
In the message to Michel Aoun, Rouhani congratulated the government and nation of Lebanon on the anniversary of the “victorious and glorious” success for the resistance and freedom that was achieved after the Lebanese people’s devotion in the battle against the Zionist aggressors.

-- Iran Name Squad For World Cup Qualifiers

Croatian coach of Iran’s national football team Dragan Skocic has named the squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers that is set to be held in Bahrain.
Goalkeepers: Alireza Beiranvand, Payam Niazmand, Amir Abedzadeh, Mohammadreza Akhbari
Defenders: Shoja Khalilzadeh, Mohammadhossein Kanaanizadegan, Morteza Pouraliganji, Majid Hosseini, Sadegh Moharrami, Milad Mohammadi, Jafar Salmani

-- Water projects worth over $185m inaugurated

Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian on Tuesday inaugurated seven major water industry projects valued at 7.81 trillion rials (about $185.9 million) through video conference in three provinces, IRIB reported.

Put into operation in the eighth week of the ministry’s A-B-Iran program in the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21), the said projects were inaugurated in Hormozgan, Fars, and Kurdestan provinces. Water supply to several rural areas in the mentioned provinces, some wastewater and water treatment plants, some surface water collection facilities, as well as a tunnel for water transfer were among the inaugurated projects.

-- Iran seeks UNESCO status for ancient nomadic routes

Iran is preparing a dossier for ancient routes and paths used by its Bakhtiari nomads to be submitted to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in near future, ILNA reported on Tuesday. “A comprehensive archeological, ethnographic and ecological survey on the nomads’ roads, scattered across Andika county in southern Khuzestan province, has been started,” Andika’s tourism chief Seyyed Ali Musavi said. 

Bakhtiari nomads live a life defined by the tradition of migration and the ability to adapt to climatic conditions and the natural environment, the official explained.
